National Service Scheme (NSS)

The overall aim of National Service Scheme is to give an extension to the higher education system and orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in the College. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. NSS activities of our students were fine tuned to this objective. All the youth volunteers who opt to serve the Nation through the NSS led community service wear the NSS badge with pride and a sense of responsibility towards helping the needy.
The slogan of National Service Scheme is “NOT ME BUT YOU”

Objectives

  • Community Service: The NSS seeks to engage students in various community service activities that address local issues and contribute to the betterment of society. This includes activities like cleanliness drives, health camps, literacy programs, and environmental conservation efforts.
  • Personality Development: NSS aims to develop students' personalities by instilling qualities such as leadership, communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. These skills are honed through hands-on involvement in various projects.
  • Social Awareness: One of the central objectives of NSS is to raise awareness about social issues, including poverty, illiteracy, health disparities and environmental concerns. By understanding these issues, students are encouraged to actively contribute to their solutions.
  • National Integration: NSS aims to promote a sense of national unity and integration by bringing together students from diverse backgrounds to work collectively towards common goals, irrespective of differences.
  • Health and Wellness: NSS conducts health camps, blood donation drives and awareness programs to promote physical and mental well-being among students and the community.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Camp
  • Empowerment: NSS encourages students to take ownership of their initiatives, fostering a sense of empowerment and agency that can extend beyond the program.
  • Volunteerism: NSS aims to create a culture of volunteerism among students, encouraging them to contribute their time, skills and energy to social causes beyond their academic responsibilities. NSS volunteers extend their support during disaster periods.
  • Cultural Exchange: NSS provides a platform for cultural exchange among students from diverse backgrounds, promoting understanding and appreciation of various cultures.

These objectives collectively contribute to the holistic development of students while also promoting a sense of social responsibility and community engagement among the youth.
