The lap of a mother is a cradle for culture and civilization. Society requires Women of disciplined minds and restrained manners. Whatever line of work we undertake, we should bring to it an honest and disciplined mind. Therefore, every institution must dedicate itself towards the development of women. There is a famous quotation which says,
“Give us good women; we will have a great civilization Give us good mothers; we will have a great nation”
Our education should help us become instruments of higher purposes. We need disciplined minds to achieve our aspirations and ambitions.
Education should be imparted with a view to the type of society that we wish to build. We are working for a modern democracy built on the values of human dignity and equality. These are only ideals; we should strive hard to make them living forces. Our vision of the future should include these great principles. Unless we have principles which we are able to develop into living forces, we cannot prevent the world from disinteresting.
Education helps us to find out what we are for in the World. What should be our relations with human beings and others? Education is the means by which we can tie up our minds, acquire information as well as a sense of values. Our education should enable us to look upon humanity as something above all nations.
Success in Social life can only be ensured through a sequence of changes for the better. The changes incorporated should add more meaning to our lives. Education is a process by which we conserve valuable elements in our culture and discard the wasteful. It is both a stabilizing influence and an agent for change. A great Indian sage observes, “Unless a lamp keeps itself burning it cannot light the other”. Let us strive to build a cordial human relationship and spread the message of unity to posterity, thereby making this world the best place to live in.
Let us commit ourselves to build a new way of life, a new unified World, which shall treat all men and women with dignity and respect.
